Special Offer: Order the Long Reach Telescopic Hedge Trimmer AND the Eckman 900W 2-in-1 Angle-Adjustable Chainsaw and save an extra £10
This heavy duty trimmer weighs just 3.7kg but has all the features needed to get big jobs finished quickly and with minimum effort.

| Still heavy when fully extended but does the job. Pleased with purchase. |

I was attracted to this trimmer as it was advertised as it “can power through stems up to almost 1” in diameter”. However, the manual that came with the trimmer stated that the cutting capacity was “16mm/1” diameter”.
When I went to school, 16mm was nearer 0.63” and nowhere near 1”.

| Overall I'm glad I bought this. It certainly made light work of reducing my 13 foot hedge back to it's normal 8 foot - yes I had let it go a bit! Also, I didn't need a ladder to reach over to the back of the hedge, so much safer. However, because of the unwieldy nature of the trimmer, it was impossible to achieve a consistent height, nor a smooth finish to the sides. I ended up using my small electric trimmer. That said, the job took half the time and there was no tottering about on top of a ladder. |

| The product is well made and packaged and as I write has coped well with one side of a 40yard 8 foot high hedge ( I am hoping to do the outside half this weekend if the weather is fine). In practical terms, the method of adjustment of reach (an allan key which can easily get lost) is not for frequent use and - particularly when extended to maximum reach and used at a horizontal level - is very heavy. The young lady using the hedge trimmer in the advertisement photograph should receive a medal for weightlifting! |

| The Eckman lightweight telescopic hedge trimmer enables you to reach the tops and sides of hedges that otherwise you would nee a professional to do, at much greater cost. It is heavyish to use but that is to be expected as the full extension length increases the leverage. My wife (five foot nothing) can use the trimmer but it is best to take regular breaks if doing a long section. Protective goggles are recommended. This is a good product and we are very happy with our purchase. |

Assembly was quite easy, despite quite poor instructions. It quickly became obvious that, unless I'm missing a trick, that you can't disassemble this for storage, so you're left with a 7 foot tool to store!!!!!! Extremely top heavy. I am over 6 feet tall and quite strong but I was struggling with this in only a few minutes. Worth mentioning that the blade isn't very strong. I got the blade caught in the hedge and the blade bent straight away. Luckily I could bend it back to shape but that's not the point. Having said all that, it did do the job I bought it for, but it isn't worth the price I paid. In summary, great idea but pretty poor execution of it. |

| This is an excellent product. It was easy to assemble and with being lightweight also easy to use. It cuts through fairly large branches with ease and is exactly as described in the advert. I'm very pleased with my product and the price paid is good value for money. I have seen similar products thast are much more exspensive |

Over all it does just what the add said. I'm not sure what the pole is made from, I hope it's carbon fibre, but I'm not sure, let's hope it's durable! The girl in the ad was a strong lass!! |

| as stated able to reach parts of the hedge that would have needed ladders but a bit on the awkward side re access to the start and hold |
| DOROTHEE FRY, Birmingham |
| PRODUCT: | |
Appears well made and undoubtedly does the job well. The ability to set the blade at 90 degrees to the shaft makes it very versatile - not all extended reach hedge trimmers can do this. The most significant drawback to me is the location of the motor (where most of the weight is) at the cutting end, as opposed to the base of the shaft. Obviously this is to allow for the telescopic extension of the shaft, and to eliminate the need for a cable or shaft drive, but it does make it rather unwieldy and tiring to use, as the centre of gravity is towards the working end of the shaft, away from the body. I have to say that I found the harness arrangement useless. It consists of a single strap which is inclined to keep slipping off. I think a double harness would be more practical.
Having said all that, I think it was an acceptable solution to meet my needs, at a very reasonable price. |
