With these sturdy and attractive planters you can bring your own delicious home grown fruit, veg and herbs to your own back door with minimal maintenance, better drainage and fewer weeds, increased and faster yields, plus a significant  reduction in ground pests such as Cutworms, Caterpillars, Beetle Grubs and Slugs.

The clever design of these mini gardens also allows for shallow rooting crops (e.g. salads and herbs) around the perimeter and deeper rooting plants such as carrots, parsnips and courgettes to be planted towards the centre (max. centre depth 13.5” /34cm).

Manufactured from FSC accredited and managed forestry, these solid Cedar wood portable raised planters have already been treated with water-soluble anti-rot treatment and come supplied with a plastic liner.

FAQs

Q - Will I need to assemble these myself and if so, what tools will I need and how long should it take?
A - All our Planters are supplied flat packed – just like Ikea furniture. You’ll need 1x cross-head screwdriver + 2x 10mm spanners. Assembly is extremely simple and should only take a few minutes but like most assembly jobs, another set of hands should really speed up things, especially if you purchase the super large size.

Q - What growing medium do you recommend to use?
A - A good general compost should work well but take advice from your local garden centre.

Q - What guarantee do you offer?
A - 12 months from the date of purchase. However, Cedar wood is naturally rot-resistant, plus we’ve further applied EU approved plant-friendly anti-rot treatment.  And don’t forget, each Eckman raised planter comes with its own strong PE liner with drainage holes to protect the inside of the wood panels.

Q - Can I paint them?
A - Yes and we think they look terrific, but don’t forget, this will require extra maintenance to keep them looking really good.

Q - Why would I need to purchase the optional mini greenhouse cover?
A - It will help warm up the soil even faster which will help bring on small plants more quickly.  In the early days you may want to cover small plants to protect them against inclement weather.
