Product Information
Description
The Eckman 2-stroke petrol cultivator makes easy work of preparing soil for vegetable gardens, flower beds or lawn laying - saving you from hours of back-breaking digging.
The Eckman petrol tiller has a powerful 42.7cc / 1.6HP low maintenance engine which helps break up and turn over soil up to 20cm deep by 25cm wide in a single pass, quickly and effortlessly.
The more passes you make over the ground with the Eckman cultivator the finer and more aerated the soil becomes and of course you can use it to mix in garden compost and feed. Being petrol-powered there’s no potentially dangerous trailing power leads or restriction on where you can work.

FAQs
Q: Can I download instructions for this product?A: Yes, you can download a PDF copy of the instructions for this product by clicking here
Q: Is this machine self-propelled or do I have to push it?
A: In fact it’s self-propelled. When the revolving tines dig into the ground, this has the effect of pushing the machine forwards. Pulling back against the forwards motion will have the effect of the tines digging deeper into the ground.
Q: What do the wheels at the back do?
A: They have three purposes – to help transport the machine; to help stabilise the machine when tilling; to act as a tilling depth adjustment.
Q: You say this machine is low maintenance. Can you explain?
A: Apart from keeping the machine clean, checking all nuts and bolts are secure, and removing any debris that may have got stuck in between the tines ( specially when working in clay soils), the main thing is to keep the air filter clean as this is the most common cause of engine misfire and bad running if left to become dirty. Removing the air filter is simple and well explained in the operations manual. Once removed, there’s a small sponge filter inside and again, cleaning it only takes a moment or two and is explained in the manual. A check and clean if necessary after every 10 hours of use should be fine.
Q: Is any assembly involved before I can use the machine and will I need any special tools?
A: The tiller comes fully assembled with the exception of the handlebars and wheel assembly, both of which take just a few moments. No special tools are required.
Q: If for some reason I break one of the tines, can it be replaced?
A: Yes. Replacing the tines is quite straight forward and covered in the instructions. Tines should be replaced as a set of four so that the wear is even. They are available from Eckman Spares / Eckman Customer Services on 0871 590 5917.
