The stylish and elegant Knightsbridge Retractable Patio Awning from Eckman will extend your home living area out onto the patio and into the garden.
Come rain, shine, day or night, the hard-wearing 2.5m wide x 2m deep luxurious awning gives you a place to barbeque and entertain with ease and in very hot weather it will help keep your adjoining room cool.
It is made from superior quality 280g waterproof polyester on a white powder-coated aluminium frame and the fabric is PU-coated to help withstand high temperatures and ultra-violet light - meaning it will keep its attractive bright look for years to come.
The Eckman Knightsbridge awning is now only available in Navy Blue or Forest Green with white stripes.

Q: How is the awning retracted?
A: You extend (open) or retract the awning using the crank handle. A crank handle is simply a pole which the user rotates. Gears then extend or retract the awning. It takes just a few moments and as gears are used it is easy
Q: What is the minimum height from the floor that awning should be fixed to a wall?
A: 2.5m is the recommended height to position the wall brackets above the floor beneath the awning. Note: you can adjust the angle of decline of the awning by up to 25degrees so there is quite a bit of flexibility with the height you position the brackets, but we recommend attaching the wall brackets to the wall 2.5metres above floor height
Q: What size drill bit should I use for drilling the holes?
A: 16mm. Note it is recommended that when drilling the holes you drill a pilot hole before hand to make drilling with the larger drill bit (16mm) easier. (recommended size of pilot hole is 8 – 10mm)
Q: Does the awning require a cover?
A: No it does not. The main awning retracts into the ‘cassette’ when it is not in use so most of the material cover is protected from the elements/weather. However, for winter it is very easy to take the awning body down from the brackets to store, for example in a garage.
Q: Can the awning be left outdoor over winter?
A: Yes. Of course the awning should be retracted in over winter to avoid overloading caused by snowfall / leaf debris etc.
Q: How long is the guarantee period?
A: Eckman give a full 2-year manufacturer’s guarantee. This means Eckman will repair or replace any faulty product. Faults caused by customer abuse or neglect are not covered
Q: How much maintenance is required?
A: Very little. An occasional ‘grease’ of moving parts / joints is recommended once a year using a suitable lubricant (e.g. WD40 or similar)

Awning arrived 8 days after ordering.I had previously downloaded instructions as I had limited space to fit it. Thses instructions also told me that I needed a 16mm masonry drill, so I was able to borrow one before awning arrived. This meant that I was able to put brackets straightaway and then got a neighborough to help put awning up and fasten to brackets - all very straightforward.

| Very easy to put-up once you have drilled the 16mm holes in your brickwork and secured the brackets. These are quite big holes and not every average home toolbox will have a drill "man enough" for the job. I called in a favour from a friend. Esential to measure and mark-out the bracket positions at the correct hight and perfectly level before drilling. No guidance is given in the instructions as to the hight position which is really up to you. Remember that the arms will tilt down when being extended. I found viewing the on-line video very useful in chosing the correct hight. Very good value although the blind does not retract into any storage cassette so over time may get a bit grubby. Well pleased. |

There are some errors and omissions in the instructions, such as drill size for the wall bolts being 14 when the bolt sleeves were 16.
Some additional information such as a list of tools needed would also be helpful. |
